Since its inception, Sahakarya Nepal, Sindhuli has been working in the field of livelihood and entrepreneurship, health and sanitation, education, gender equality and social inclusion, disaster risk reduction, good governance, social accountability and climate change in order to uplift the socio-economic status of socially deprived and economically poor communities like Dalit, Janajati, Danuwar, Mushar, Majhi living in Sindhuli district. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all over the world. Nepal faced an equal burn with the rise in COVID-19 cases. Government of Nepal imposed lock-down situation to combat against COVID-19 pandemic which impacted the Nepalese economic sector but mostly suffered the lives of the vulnerable population. Despite challenges, Sahakarya Nepal, Sindhuli continued to support the marginalized and high-risk communities through development as well as humanitarian projects to ensure their empowerment, well-being, and dignity through social transformation and advocacy. In 2021/22, Sahakarya Nepal, Sindhuli implemented projects relating to the livelihood and enterprises development, COVID-19 response and recovery and reconstruction of health and educational facilities affected by the 2015 mega earthquake to strengthen and capacitate targeted communities to create better opportunity for increasing their household income and promoting quality education. It also promoted rights based approach to implement these projects specially focusing on social and economic rights of women and increase their meaningful participation in the local level decision making process. I would like to thank all of the development partners especially FCA, UNDP and USAID/CDM Smith for supporting us with an opportunity to working among socially marginalized and economically poor communities to increase their economic and social status through implementing different development projects. I also would like to extent my gratitude to the Chief and staff members of District Coordination Committee, Sindhuli, Chief District Officer and staff members of District Administrative Office, Sindhuli, Mayor/Deputy Mayor and Chairpersons/Vice-Chairpersons of concerned local governments of Sindhuli district, Ward Chairpersons, staff members of Sahakarya Nepal and right holders of the projects for contributing their important roles to implement Sahakarya Nepal's development activities with better results.
