Health mother’s group helped me

Kamala Devkota is a permanent residence of Dudhauli Municipality ward no-3 Kalapani, Sindhuli. There are six members in her family. She got married at the early age of 17. She gave birth to her first child at the age of 18. She shared that due to the early marriage and child birth, she suffered from a severe lower abdominal pain.  After her first child reached 2 years of age, she gave birth to her second child. Her lower abdominal pain severely after the second child birth. At that time, she was very shy to share this problem with her husband and family members. One day, she met Ms. Bimala Magar Female Community Health Volunteer (FCHV) and  insisted that she attain the health mother group meeting. She took part at an interface meeting of the Community Health Score Board (CHSB) organized by Sahakarya Nepal with the support from Care Nepal. She remembered that in the meeting, she took part in the discussion on health issues and problems. She shared her health problem facing for some years in the meeting. During the meeting with the FCHV and the mother’s group, she got suggestions for the health checkup. The FCHV said that this may be the problem of the uterus. You may have the problem of uterine prolapse so visit the health facility as soon as possible. After the meeting, she shared everything with her husband. Her husband took her to the health facility for the health check-up and found that there was a problem in the uterus. After the medication, she is healthy now. She is thankful towards the health mother group and CHSB programme due to which she got the platform to share her health issues.
