Quality and inclusive education as basic human rights for all children

The goal of this strategic theme is to ensure all children have access to quality basic education and learning environments both at home and school through increased community awareness and support, and improved governance of community schools.

Strategic interventions include:

Mobilise youth and peer groups to increase awareness of local issues, such as child marriage, gender discrimination, domestic violence through street drama, role play, and dialogue; support School Management Committees (SMC) and develop Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) to improve efficiency of education and learning environment in the schools through collective action and training for parents and SMCs members and develop SMC and PTA members as effective change agents for their schools.

Support in early childhood development activities to the schools having insufficient resources.

Implement livelihood and enterprises development programs to the households of school going children who are socially marginalized and economically poor, Persons with Disabilities, Dalit and single women headed to support increasing household level income for reducing the rate of drop out.

Ensure schools are gender friendly so that all students, particularly girls’ equal access to quality education.

Introduce child-friendly easy to learn teaching methods, equipment and curricula in coordination with local government bodies.

Implement child sponsorship program to the needy school going girls and boys.

Ensure increased learning outcome and retention of girls and boys by improving learning environment.

Promote child participation by creating a space in education system through child clubs and agencies to act on child rights and quality education environment in schools and communities.

Implement WASH and menstrual hygiene program for the effective learning environment at the school.

Support constructing school infrastructures to provide effective learning environment.
